I manage and lead a state-of-the-art KAUST Visualization Core Lab that brings scientific visualization, immersive analytics, AI, data science, and HPC together to help researchers explore complex data, accelerate discovery, and build new computational capabilities. Through collaborative research, consultancy, and hands-on training, KVL translates advanced computational resources into practical scientific workflows and actionable insight. We enable researchers to work across scales—from large, multidimensional datasets to immersive 3D environments—while advancing new approaches to data-driven discovery.

PURPOSE & MISSION
KVL develops and maintains an effective environment for data exploration and analysis; provides advanced visualization and data-analysis services; trains researchers on state-of-the-art visualization hardware and software; and develops new capabilities to remain at the cutting edge of visualization and data science.

KVL manages four primary facility areas spanning planar display walls, immersive environments, projection space and AR/VR workstations. Together they support exploration, collaboration, training and research demonstrations.

Dedicated AR/VR environment with headsets, segmentation tablets and immersive visualization workstations.
CONNECTED TO KAUST HPC
KVL's visualization environments are connected to KAUST's HPC infrastructure, including Shaheen III and Ibex. This connection enables researchers to move beyond workstation-scale exploration and analyze large datasets with GPU, AI and HPC-enabled workflows.
